I was born with only one thought in mind. I would be an artist. I worked at the idea from that time to this.

I have a B.A. in Art and Art Education from the University of California at Los Angeles. Independent studies from Pepperdine and UCLA and art workshops given by artist along the way.

I studied and taught Art in the Los Angeles area for 20 years. In 1968 I decided to fire myself from the school system and became an independent free lance artist , in stained glass, boat painting and refurbishing in Marina del Rey.

Sailing was my hobby and and boats were my second love especially grand old ladies of the sea. I sailed to Hawaii and set myself to the project of remodeling a large piece of property with 89 cottages. It was a labor of love and into it I introduced all the knowledge that I had gained about design and color. My husband Richard kept me under control with the purse while all the time being the general contractor of the project. I varied my arts including sign painting and menus.

In 1993, we moved to British Columbia where we designed and built a home on a large rock overlooking the Georgia Straights. It was again a canvas that I enjoyed working on.

During the three years that we were there, I was the covener at the Sechelt Art Center. I spent many hours helping hang and showing the works of other artists. I had stopped painting in 1968 for other projects and I realized that it was time to start again. I was inspired after reading "The Artist's Way." I began to teach Art Journaling.

In 1996 we moved to Mexico to retire and ended up building the La Paloma Oceanfront Retreat instead! Now my house and property are full of paintings. I started out in Watercolor. Now I love the combination of three media: watercolor, oil and pastel.

My greatest love is art and my greatest desire is to inspire others to experience art. I conduct workshops at out Art Center and conduct plein air painting expeditions with my students.

Come visit at La Paloma in San Patricio on Wednesday and Thursday from 10-2 to see more of the work I am doing. If you asked me which painting I liked best. my answer would be to invite you to view my present direction.
